Lifestyle:  Active family enjoys family movies, all types of music and sporting events, especially the New England teams such as the Celtic’s in HD.  DVR gets heavy use. 

Challenges:  Room layout requires corner position in order to adjust to seating.  Work with Media cabinet already purchased.  Outside speakers back to the system.  Positioning and size of center channel.

Solution: 42” Panasonic Plasma on a rotating base to increase viewing angles and center channel positioning.  NAD AV receiver, Canton speakers with stands, Toshiba HD-DVD, Time Warner HD DVR,NAD iPod dock with on screen menu all controlled by an RTI Theater Touch remote control.  All of the components are protected by Panamax.

Lifestyle:  Young active family, love action movies, sports, music and entertaining.

Challenges:  Large room with limited sound absorbing qualities. Utilize cabinet already purchased.

Solution: Verizon FiOS, Hitachi 55” plasma, NAD AV Receiver, Bay Audio bookshelf and all around including in-wall rear channels set to address echo in room, Hitachi HD-DVD all programmed on an RTI Theater Touch remote.  All components are protected by Panamax.

 

Lifestyle:  Young children watching children’s shows and HD movies as well as sporting events, especially Nebraska football games. 

Challenges:  Adapting speakers to a corner room setup and still getting surrounds positioned properly for full 5.1 setup.  Speaker’s small enough to fit in corners but large enough to fill the vaulted ceiling family room.

Solution:  60” Samsung HD LCD with stand, Denon AV receiver, Toshiba HD-DVD player, Nintendo Wii, Canton CD series front and surrounds as well as a Velodyne sub.  All are programmed into a Harmony remote and components are protected by a Monster power conditioner.

 

Lifestyle:  Active family, loves watching New England sports, movies and gaming in large family room with vaulted ceiling. 

Challenges:  Large room, desire to have television mounted over gas fireplace to be seen all the way to the adjacent kitchen.  Filling the room with enough sound with bookshelf sized speakers. Family had the desire to hide the components in cabinets to the right.  Cabling for all of the components and RF universal remote control. 

Solution: 50” Panasonic Plasma with a Sanus full motion mount, Atlantic Technologies THX series speakers and 5.1 surround. In the cabinet to the right is a Denon AV receiver, Toshiba HD-DVD player, Playstation III and Nintendo Wii.  All programmed to a Harmony remote control and protected by a Monster power conditioner.
